Nick and Shelby have such a sweet friendship, and an even sweeter love to compliment it. We met up with them last summer in Seattle to shoot engagement photos (LINK HERE) and talk about their wedding. We have loved getting to know these two ever since!
Their wedding day was a typical picturesque day in Santa Barbara–70 degrees, blue skies, and a sunset that leaves you wondering why you don’t live there. The Best. The couple had their “first look” each on Westmont College’s campus where we took bridal party and family photos as well. The ceremony was at Montecito Covenant Church just down the street from Westmont, and coincidentally the church that Char grew up attending! Following the ceremony, we took more photos of just the bride and groom at Butterfly Beach as the sun was setting. Side note, the whole wedding day was planned and organized by the wonderful Dalina Michaels (Once In a Lifetime Wedding Planning) and it all went off without a hitch! Reception was in the Cabrillo Arts Center near downtown SB and right on the beach. The theme of their dinner menu was “happy hour” so the dinner was made up of a variety of small plate/appetizer-type dishes i.e. pork sliders, stuffed potato halves, cheese and crackers, etc (by Stanton’s Catering). Each table center had wooden carriers made by a family friend and filled with old glass bottled soda pop for guests to toast with. Super cute and original. Dessert was cupcakes provided by Beyond Frosting (Julianne Bayer) and they were, in Char’s words, life changing. DJ Flamezz was in charge of spinning beats and keeping the dance floor hopping. The day was effortlessly beautiful in so many ways, and we had a blast hanging with such a fun-loving couple, family, and friends!
