Melody, Alex, and I enjoyed a couple beers together before driving over and capturing their Gas Works Park Engagement photos.
Melody and Alex found me while planning their awesome wedding (I also shot that, LINK HERE) with Jen Owens (Jen Leslie Events). Such an honor when a wedding planner friend recommends me to couples because then I automatically get to serve alongside a good friend; someone who I know and can trust in the wedding industry.
These two came to me as most people do—hesitant to take photos. “We don’t feel very photogenic.” — “Don’t you worry, I get that a lot.” It’s true, so many people for whatever reason don’t love taking photos. It makes sense, unless you are child actor or model, the only occasions you take photos for are family portraits, senior photos (high school), or you wedding. It can definitely be intimidating, but my goal is always to help people enjoy themselves and almost completely forget the camera is even there.
I digress, we had a blast enjoying a couple beers at Stoup Brewing in Ballard, and then after walking the neighborhood, headed to Gas Works Park for some amazing views and fun moments captured. I absolutely love the natural moments that unfold while walking with people in beautiful locations. I refuse to force people into awkward poses (unless of course that makes them laugh). Scroll below and you’ll see these two in their element together.
