Heidi, like every woman, had a dream of one day being swept of her feet and Josh was, quite simply put, the fulfillment of that dream. Josh caught Heidi off guard by proposing to her at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and also to her surprise, he hired me (a photographer based in Seattle, WA) to fly out and capture the moment! Josh and I spent hours over the phone planning and plotting how it would go down, how I would show up without her knowing, etc. What an incredible honor it has been to get to know these two over the course of two years and be able to photograph not only their proposal, but also their wedding (below).
Josh and Heidi became friends in High School, and unbeknownst to Heidi, Josh had fallen hard. He had to keep it under wraps because he could tell Heidi wanted to be friends first. He took his time, gave her years of friendship, and finally, years after they had begun dating after college, Josh decided it was time to take a trip to “celebrate his completing grad school.” This was when he surprised her with the Paris proposal in May of 2012.
In April of 2013 they were married outside of Shirley Temple’s old home, the Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove, CA. Dearest friends and family witnessed as they declared their vows in between precious tears. Josh and Heidi’s perfect day unfolded into an amazing reception with exceptional food and drink provided by Grand Island Mansion, a photo booth by Booth By Design, and a wonderful cake by Pink Whisk Creations. The night couldn’t have been more fun thanks to the awesome sounds and event planning by Sound Image Entertainment.
