It was an absolute honor for me to be entrusted with the execution\/planning of Francis\/Vanessa’s exciting Seattle surprise proposal photos!<\/p>\n

Francis found me on a google search–he lives in Dallas and wanted a photographer he could trust with a super special moment. He asked me what I would suggest and after telling him my game plan he was sold.<\/p>\n

The best way to plan a surprise proposal is to give the impression (to whoever the proposed will be) there’s nothing out of the ordinary. Everything is normal, we’re just going on a trip to Seattle. It’s a place we love to visit and that’s that. Apparently Vanessa had been hoping for some sort of proposal for months and when it hadn’t happened, she was thinking, “well will it ever?”<\/p>\n

That was the perfect timing for Francis to drop on a knee and surprise her during their visit to rainy Seattle. He texted me the day of, “Is it too rainy? what about weather? Are we okay?” I assured him, “This is normal, let’s play it by ear and I’m sure it will go off without a hitch.”<\/p>\n

We arrived Kerry Park<\/a> for the initial meet-up. The plan ensued. Francis walks up to me with Vanessa, I ask Vanessa, “hey would you mind taking a photo of me?” She takes the bait, “Oh of course!” I ask her, “well as long as you’re taking a photo of me, I could take a photo of you guys!” And bingo, she hands me her phone, I take a few of them on the phone and then as she looks back at Francis and sees him getting down on one knee. I’m sure that was the moment she couldn’t remember anything. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
